This mama requested NEUTRAL colors, props, and outfits. Which, of course, is totally my jam. I am so drawn to simple, neutral colors. Her session was just before Easter, so naturally we had to try my adorable bunny bonnet on her.

I tend to gravitate toward neutral, organic colors when photographing newborns…that’s just my personal style. But I LOVE it when mom’s request color, because it forces me to think outside my normal style and I always love the results. This mama has two boys, and wanted to celebrate the arrival of their tiny girl with some PINK!
She looks amazing in pink, and I just love how feminine and pretty she looks. She was a total dream baby, and big brothers were sooo good.

I know that life can get crazy during baby’s first year, and it is so easy to skip milestone sessions between 3-12 months…but I just have to say, between 6-9 months is my absolute favorite age to photograph.
This little man totally rocked his 6 month session. He was just so charming and adorable, and I am so happy to have met him. I just love having happy, loving families in studio. Warms my heart!
Some great milestones to capture include: first smiles, tummy time, sitting unassisted, clapping, “cruising”, crawling, eating solid foods, standing, and MORE.
I have found that baby’s attention span between 3-9 months can be short, and we often don’t need a “full” 60 minute session. I will be holding “MILESTONE MINIS” each month, where you can bring in baby and capture these fleeting moments. Sessions will be super simple, quick, and easy. I had another session with a 6 week old newborn, and she was amazing!! The whole family is gorgeous, and they were just so sweet! I had such a great time getting to know them, and I just love that their little one was soooo good to us. At 6 weeks, she wasn’t interested in some of the curled up newborn poses, but we were able to get some pretty stinkin’ cute sleepy shots after she dozed off!
Typically, newborn photography is best done during baby’s first 2 weeks, but this little one rocked her session anyway! Mom and dad are so smitten with their little one, and totally have this whole parenting thing down already.

This little one is 9 months old, and LOVES her mom and dad. It was so cute to see them interact with eachother, they CLEARLY adore eachother. Milestone sessions are such a great way to capture those HUGE milestons, like baby sitting on their own, baby crawling, standing, etc. I just love this age!

I had such a great time getting to know this family! They were referred to me by one of my favorite clients, so I knew they would be great to work with, and they didn’t disappoint.
Although this was primarily a family session, their littlest one fell asleep toward the end of the session…so naturally we got some adorable classic newborn shots. Baby is 6 weeks old, and typically those curly, sleepy newborn poses are done before baby is 2 weeks old…but this little princess was sleeping so soundly we were able to get some adorable sleeping shots.
I have had some fantastic luck with older newborns in studio lately, and I will NEVER turn a newborn away for being too old! We can capture gorgeous images at ANY age, and sometimes we get lucky with a sleepy older baby and can try these sleepy poses too!

I had the most amazing time spending a weekend with my friends, and fellow newborn photographers. During the weekend slumber party (with about a dozen newborn photographers) we had two newborn models, and two maternity models and had a total blast photographing them. This little man was sooo good to me. He was so tiny, adorable, and SLEEPY. The love his big sister has for him was just adorable! She was so gentle, and such an amazing listener. I loved getting to know this family, and I just love the images we were able to capture. Mom and dad brought in a vintage brass water bucket, and it was just the perfect prop. I had so much fun meeting this GIANT family, that will soon have one more precious addition! Mom emailed me with an idea she had to announce that she is pregnant, and I just loved it. I love the simplicity of it, and the sweet sentiment that they are all waiting for the new arrival.
Mom is simply stunning, and the entire family is just gorgeous. I can’t wait to see them again for maternity and newborn photos!

This mama is simply stunning! She is due any day with TWINS and looks freaking amazing. We had fun trying out some of the different gowns I have in studio. I even made her try a GIANT floral crown, and she totally pulled it off! We had planned on having our session at Lynndale park, but we got rained out. I am SO GLAD we didn’t reschedule, because the rain simply hadn’t let up and I don’t want to push it too close to baby’s birthdays!
I am so looking forward to meeting the twins once they arrive!
