As I am wrapping up the year, I just have to share a few more images from this family session. I am so happy they found me, and I had a total blast getting to know them all. They were so full of love for eachother, and fun to work with. The kiddos were AMAZING, and I am thrilled that these images capture the love and connection that was so strong with this family.

We did the session at Bothell Landing, which is often teaming with photographers…but luckily, the dreary morning must have scared everyone off. We were practically the only people at the park, and despite it being a bit cold, the weather was just perfection.

Back to school pictures can be boring…but not around here! This little one is homeschooled, and mom decided to book a fun back to school session to celebrate the start of her school year. She came into the studio in the most adorable outfit, complete with matching necklace, bracelet…and brand spankin’ new shoes. She was so sweet, and just a perfect little model. The only challenge? Getting her to look at the camera! We got creative, and just might have broken out the “fart gun” to draw her gaze (*hint*, we totally did!). It was such a fun session, and she just looks perfect! Just look at her curls?! Am I right?!

June Bug photographer Melissa Jenkins specializes in family photography, including newborns, babies, and kids of all ages. Studio sessions are held in my in-home studio in Snohomish (while technically “Snohomish”, we are located much closer to Mill Creek). Having an in home studio means that we can all relax a bit at make ourselves at home. I have TONS of gorgeous and creative props, wraps, outfits, hats, headbands, anything you can imagine.

I LOVE this family! I was so sad to learn that they have moved across the state…but so happy when they booked a session while they were back in town for the weekend. Their family has grown by one since I saw them last, and their little guy is so adorable! So much hair, and chub for days! Big brother shocked me by being a phenomenal listener, and so patient the entire session (NOT typical for a 2 year old!) and big sister was amazing as always. I am crossing my fingers that they book a session with me every time they are in town. Here are a few of my favorites from our session.

I am so happy to have met this little guy today! He is turning ONE, and is simply charming. I have never met anyone with so many smiles to spare! He came into the studio with a smile on his face, and it never went away. I am having so much fun editing his gallery, but it is so hard to narrow it down when EVERY image contains an adorable smile. So cute. Happy Birthday Little Man!!

Mom had the genius idea of having a DOUGHNUT smash instead of a cake smash. So much cleaner, and made for such adorable images.

I love celebrating such big milestones with my clients, and cakes smashes are a great way to celebrate surviving the first year. My studio sessions are super fun, relaxed and guaranteed to bring a smile to your face.

Family Photography, Snohomish County.

I am so happy I had the opportunity to meet this family! Mom and dad were so much fun to hang out with during the session, and the kids are beyond adorable! Little brother is 6 months old, and full of smiles. He was in such a great mood, I LOVE it when that happens. Big brother & sister were full of energy, and full of love for each other. Sweetness all around! Big bro is 6, big sister is 4. Here are a few of my favorites from the session:

As a side note, I will be posting more info soon…but I am changing up my pricing structure/and what I offer. I have decided that it is important for me to give my clients a TANGIBLE photograph with each session. I am designing an adorable keepsake box, which will include 4×6 images from your session as well as a USB of your final images. I have been having nightmares lately about how fast technology changes, and I am just not comfortable ONLY handing over digital images. So, you get some prints too! YAY! Of course, you are always welcome to get your images printed from your digital files, but this way you will at least have one card copy. It will also give you a fantastic, professionally printed images to compare your print lab to!

Another cake smash! I love love love photographing cake smashes. It is so much fun to see each little one’s expression as they first touch, taste, and (hopefully) smash their cake. It is such a celebratory moment in time, and so fun to capture the family’s joy over their little one turning ONE!

This sweet girl is one!! She was full of charm, and we had such a fun time watching her test her cake. She immediately tried to pick up the cake and toss it, but it was WAY too heavy. This little one was a perfect delight, and I hope to see her again!

Mini Sessions to the EXTREME! Bothell Landing Mini Sessions, by june bug photography.

I booked ONE mini session for two weeks ago. I though to myself…”self, if you are going to be at Bothell Landing anyway…you should just put the word out and book a few more session…” Two days later, I had 5 sessions booked. For one day. It was so fun, but SO EXHAUSTING.

There are some really great things about mini sessions, like:

-They are short, and better suited for short attention spans (read: dads, and toddlers)

-They are less expensive (which is AWESOME, obviously)

-The are a great way to see if you like a photographer’s style without investing a ton of $ and time.

These are all the reasons I like to do mini sessions, and will continue to do them. I did, however, realize that 30 minutes is not enough time to get to know a family. Getting to meet new families is one of my favorite parts about my job, and 30 minutes just flies by. I didn’t feel like I got to know some of the families I met on Saturday as well as I would have liked to…but hopefully, I will get to work with them again, and get to know them even better!

I really lucked out with ALL of my families from this round of mini sessions. All were super sweet, easy going, and gorgeous!

Bothell Landing + Studio Family Session

I met this adorable family a few weekends ago, and we planned on doing a family session at Bothell Landing. Their little guy was suuuuper sleepy, and rallied for as long as he could…but finally zonked about in the middle of the session. We snapped a few sleepy baby pictures…and then changed up our plan (after all, baby is ALWAYS in charge!! 🙂

Baby got some rest, and mom brought him back to my studio for some happy AWAKE baby shots. I am so glad mom & dad were so chill about the change of plans…because we got some fantastic pictures of the little guy in the studio.

Bothell Landing Family Session

Bothell Landing is an amazing spot for family photos. There are few other outdoor locations with so many beautiful backdrops! I met this family a few weekends ago for a mini-session, and they were so much fun. Their little guy was ready to rock as soon as we got there, and we got some great photos. He got a bit squirrel-y for our last shot, and I may or may not have had to do a bit of head swapping in photoshop for the final shot (*hint…i did. 🙂 Despite sounding awful with a cold, dad rallied, and mom was awesome.

Halloween Mini Sessions, June Bug Photography

It’s {mini} session time again! I’m doing something a little different this time.

Sessions will be super fast, and will be outside! Rain or shine (Don’t worry, I will have a canopy set up if there is inclement weather). We will have treats for trick-or-treating, and a cute fall themed set (bale of hay, pumpkins galore, etc.)

Come in costume, all ages encouraged!

Cost will be $50, and will include:

-20 minute fun filled halloween themed session

-5 high resolution digital files of final images, with complete printing rights

-Online gallery, where you can download, share, and print images
