Winter Mini Sessions, Mill Creek Christmas Minis

Mini sessions are such a fun way to update your family portraits! Winter Mini Sessions are BOOKING NOW, and will be held on November 19th in my gorgeous Mill Creek Studio.

We will have two different sets for minis this year. One side will have a swing, wrapped with greenery and red berry floral garlands. The swing side of the set will be ideal for kiddos, and beautiful individual images of each kid. We will be placing blocks under the swings for tiny clients, so it won’t swing out from under them, but the bigger kiddos will be able to swing away.

The other side of the studio will have a beautiful white queen sized bed nestled into the giant studio window. The white headboard wil be wrapped with beautiful white magnolia and greenery garlands. The entire family will be able to snuggle up on the bed. This set will look adorable with winter pjs, or dressed in your best, both will be adorable!

Sessions will be 15 minutes long, and include your choice of 3 digital files from your online gallery. You will also recieve THREE accordion mini albums, which make great gifts! The accordion mini albums have a soft leather cover, and the images will be selected by Melissa to best fit the sizes/layout of the album. 6 Month Baby Photography Sitter Session, milestone photography session

I just adore milestone sessions! I offer mini sessions for babies age 3 months -12 months, and they are the PERFECT way to capture those adorable milestones. Milestone baby mini sessions are offered once a month, and include 5 digital images (via digital download). Mini sessions are 20 minutes, which is the perfect amount of time for baby’s short attention span. Photographing babies is definitely my passion, and I adore getting to see my tiny clients during their milestone session. Many of my babies come in every few months!

Some ideas for your next milestone mini session:
-Baby’s first smiles
-Baby lifting head/tummy time
-Baby is sitting unassisted
-Nursing photos

I had SO MUCH FUN with this year’s mini sessions! We had two very different set ups, which was perfect! We had a snowy, mountain top, tree filled set up (complete with snowballs!) and a very neutral couch set up as well.

My mini sessions always book before I actually go public with them, as I send out a newsletter to all my wonderful clients. This year, both my fall minis and winter minis booked solid before I had a chance to open them up to everyone else. I might need to add a few days of minis next year, and I had MANY people who weren’t able to snag a spot…and I hate turing people away!

My clients are seriously the best, and I had a total blast seeing everyone and how much your kiddos have grown!

Fall Family Mini Session Marathon!!

In an effort to spend more time with my own family, I’ve decided to limit the number of weekend days I work…which is super difficult, because fall/winter is definitely BUSY SEASON for photographers! In order to fit in all of my wonderful clients, I ran a special family mini session day…and it was a total blast! I ended up photographing 11 different families, and it was so fun to see so many of my favorite families. I was definitely tired at the end of the day, but it was such a great day!!

This little lady is homeschooled, and comes to me each year for an updated school photo. I have a special place in my heart for homeschooling families, as I worked for many years at a Homeschool Resource Center.

She is simply the sweetest, and has the BEST IDEAS. She spotted my unicorn headband as soon as she walked in the door, and I promised her that she would get a chance to wear it. We got through the “traditional” poses, and then she totally rocked the unicorn headband. Like, ROCKED IT.

I couldn’t let the session end without getting little brother in front of the camera, and the two of them are just the sweetest together. I love working with such happy, loving, fun families. Love it!

I gave my loyal clients a bit of a head start, and sent out booking information for my upcoming Winter mini sessions. I woke up this morning, and OVER HALF of my session were already booked!!! I have the best clients EVER!!

The details:

The set will be super simple and bright. I will have a giant white bed, with white blankets and pillows set against a white (backlit) backdrop. I wanted to do something unique, while still having my families be the center of attention in the images. I am a pretty simple gal, and much prefer a clean, simple set-up…and this one is exactly what I was envisioning these last few months.

Bring along Christmas Pjs, or come in your best dress clothes…anything goes, and it is going to be adorable.

Baby Photography Session, Snohomish County Photography.

Baby A is already 3 months old, and I am so excited I get to see her every few months for the next year! She is part of my “baby plan”, which means she will be dropping by for mini-milestone sessions throughout her first year. She is simply precious, and so calm! She has the most stunning eyelashes I have EVER seen, this girl is a beauty. Just started downloading their images from today, and this one stopped me in my tracks. Such a gorgeous girl!

I was lucky enough to meet this family for baby’s newborn session, and she has grown so much in just 3 short months. I love to compare photos from the different sessions, it is such a great reminder of how fast they grow! Want to make sure you capture those fleeting moments? New products! Prints & Presents.

I have been hard a work putting together new packages to offer, and I am so excited to finally officially announce what I have come up with.

After working closely with some amazing local photographers, and spending a lot of time really thinking about my business…and why I love what I do, I decided that I would like to offer PRODUCTS (prints!) with every package and every session done with June Bug Photography. There are a million reasons that I have made this decision, but the number one reason is that prints are REAL. Prints are forever. Weather you choose to put them in a scrapbook, photo album, frame, or even in a box in the attic…they will still be stunning images in 50 years. Your great grandchildren will hold and treasure images of you and your family. That, to me, is beautiful. The digital age has certainly been a wonderful thing for photographers (we no longer have to worry about the expense of film & developing, we can instantly see if our photos are properly composed and exposed)…but there has also been a trend to stop PRINTING images. We have access to our photos on our phones, our computers, the “cloud”…which is so wonderful for sharing and enjoying now, but I worry about the future of these digital images.

I spent last Saturday by my grandmother’s bedside in the hospital, and began planning the slideshow I will create for her (to play in her room at Hospice care). When I got back to my Mom’s house, I began sorting through many photo albums (all labeled, of course, if you know my mother!). It brought tears to my eyes to see Granny in nearly every photo of family events, birthdays, school field trips..she was such a presence throughout our childhood and beyond. I then began to realize that I do not have ANY photo albums in my own home. I am a photographer, and I have not a single photo album for my children (or their children, one day) to flip through and remember all of the wonderful moments we have shared. Don’t get me wrong, I have photos…just not prints. All of my images are stored on hard drives, phones (some long lost phones..), picassa (which I never use anymore), zip drives, cds, dropbox, and surely some other long forgotten locations. In fact, EVERY photo I took in the first 9 months of my daughters life were stored “safely” on a laptop. A laptop that was stolen from my home.

This is why I have decided to make a conscious shift to provide prints for my clients (and myself!). Every package will include 4×6 images of your favorites from your session. I have had a lot of fun putting together a sweet keepsake box to store them all. You are, of course, welcome to make additional prints from your digital files (or from the online gallery). I have revamped my price list to reflect these changes, and you will still be receiving digital files of your favorite images!

I had the pleasure of having this little guy BACK after just a few weeks! He was super chill and slept for much of the session. You might recognize him from his newborn session earlier this month…although he does seem so much bigger! Mom’s family was in town for the Holidays, and I am so glad they were able to make it into the studio for a quick family session. Family photography Snohomish county, June Bug photograhy!

The twin girls are 10 years old, and simply delightful. They brought so much fun energy to the set, and it was adorable to see them fight over who loved their baby nephew more.

Our hot chocolate stand was a smashing success, and Santa spent the entire day in the studio. We had so much fun, and I was super excited to have so many returning families for these minis! We were totally booked, and every family except one had done a session with me before!!

I got to meet an amazing new family and see some of my very favorite families too. Love my job!!
