Split session: Country Village & Studio. By June Bug Photography

One of the questions I always ask parents when planning a session is “What are some particular interest of each child to be photographed? What gets them talking?” Well, the response from this family was that getting their little one talking is NOT the problem! She is crazy outgoing, and was so fun, silly, and beautiful!

We met at Country Village in the morning, and it was FREEZING. We cut our outdoor part a bit short, mostly because little miss’ teeth were chattering. We headed to the studio for the second half of the session. Mom wanted to make sure to get some belated birthday photos, and I *adore* her birthday dress. It is just gorgeous with her hair & skin tone.

This was such a beautiful, kind, and fun family. I love my job!

I met this adorable family at Tambark Creek Park. We were hoping that we would get a chance to get some candid shots at the dog park, but unfortunately…the fence was too low (these guys are jumpers!). Instead, we explored the park…with leashes attached. Both of the beautiful pups are rescues, and believe it or not, they are not related. I had fun exploring the park with Bella & Mosley with their human friend, who had trained these guys so well. Another fantastic family!

This family of 4 just might be the most relaxed family I have worked with to date! I discovered during the session that mom is a teacher at my daughter’s school…and now I am HOPING that Riley gets her for a teacher next year! She was so calm & patient with the kids during the session, skills any teacher of Riley’s definitely needs. Dad was also super chill, and I didn’t catch him looking bored/annoyed the ENTIRE session (super impressive for a dad..at a photoshoot…on a Saturday!)

Big sister had fun exploring the field outside the studio, and was especially impressed with the frost on the grass & trees. My favorite picture from the session is of big sister grinning while riding on dad’s shoulders.

Little sister was so cute, sweet, and didn’t fuss the entire session. Such a fantastic family to work with!! Here are some of my favorites from the session:

This little darling may look familiar. She has been in studio before, and always charms me senseless. She is so adorable, and it has been so fun to see her grow! She is sitting, standing (a little), and crawling around like crazy. We had to put her in a box to keep her in the studio! 🙂

This little nugget was such a trooper! First, I have to admit that I think I might have magical powers over the weather. I have not yet had to reschedule an outdoor session due to weather, and the clouds seem to part moments before I am scheduled to shoot. Awesome (also, I am knocking on wood right now).

Ok, so we met at country village, and it was raining up to just moments before out session. We walked around the Village, finding tons of great spots to stop and get photos. Some of my favorite images are of mom & dad playing with baby on the “stage”. So cute. This little guy was a total angel. No fussing. The entire time. No joke.

I worked with this family for an awesome in studio session about a month ago, and was THRILLED when mom asked me to be the photographer at her son’s 1st Birthday party. It was an AMAZING party, complete with a custom cake, a flower arrangement in the shape of a whale, an incredible face painter, and a photobooth!

Mom & Dad did an amazing job, and the party was a smashing success.

I’m going to let you in on a little secret. I have, what I like to call, “Good Neighbor Luck”. Not even joking. We have been blessed with fantastic neighbors both in our “old” house, and in our new neighborhood. I’m talking, kids the same age, who get along AND a mom and dad that I would be BFFs with even if we didn’t live 10 feet from each other. Anyway, enough sappy stuff. But for reals. My neighbors are the best.

Our new neighbors, Erin and Quinn are insanely awesome. Erin and I have become fast friends, despite the fact that we are complete opposites in many ways. For example, Erin knows when her Parent-Teacher Conference is. I did not, and I nearly missed it. Another example is Erin’s parties. You guys, she is insane. She has a special plate for every occasion, and decorates her home so beautifully for every event/holiday. She throws an awesome party. Sunday, Erin & Quinn hosted a pumpkin carving party, and it was a total blast. I set up a little photo booth out back, and we got some amazing pictures. Here are a few of my favorites:

I had so much fun working with this family this past Sunday! Mom & I spoke back and forth before the session, and had a plan for some AWESOME shots. Their little guy is 6 months old, and a total gem. He was SUCH a great sport, even when we put him inside a pumpkin. We spend some time in studio, and I broke out my white paper background. I just LOVE how these studio shots turned out. After the studio, we headed off to Canyon Park to get some family shots with the beautiful fall leaves as a backdrop. Dad was a pro at keeping baby happy, and getting some great smiles. Big sister looks so adorable in her Elsa costume, doesn’t she!? We ended up with so many fantastic shots, too many to post…but here are a few of my favorites:

Fall is here! I spent Sunday morning at my favorite park for photos, Bothell Landing. The leaves are *just* starting to turn, and the fog was thick. It was such a beautiful morning, and I had so much fun with these two families!

You might recognize these guys, I just LOVE when I get to work with them! The kiddos are full of energy (and HUGS, which is the BEST), and Mom and Dad are both awesome.

The second session was with this adorable 2 year old! She was on the look out to keep us all safe, and was sure to let us know to “be careful”, and ask “what happened?” anytime we might be in danger. 🙂 She was so sweet, and definitely loved to snuggle up with mom and dad! Bothell Landing was the perfect spot for this little one to explore, and we had fun finding ducks, squirrels in the garbage can, and potential nightmare inducing mushrooms!

This family is AWESOME. The love they have for each other was so evident. Mom went all out to celebrate this little guy’s first birthday, and we all had SOOO much fun during out session. Mom brought along balloons, gifts, party poppers, a homemade cake and so much more. Big sister came along to celebrate her little brother’s birthday, and she was just so sweet with him. Birthday boy was loving all the excitement, and so was I!

It was so fun to see Mom and Dad gazing at their kiddos, and I hope I successfully captured the joy this family brought to the studio. Have I mentioned that I love my job?

The only glitch with the session was that mom’s phone went missing. Not sure if it is lost in the depths of my studio, or somewhere in her car (or, maybe was set on TOP of the car on the way out?!) MOM: I promise to keep looking!!
